Microsoft and Yahoo! Meet Again

Speculations of another try for Microsoft to merge with Yahoo! were made after the falling out of the first potential deal. However, no one knew how soon Microsoft would try again. Recent news has reported that Microsoft will try again with Yahoo!, this time, on different terms.
Instead of a full acquisition, as proposed earlier, Microsoft is said to be going for a transaction. Reports show that in this transaction, Microsoft would invest $10 billion into Yahoo! in exchange for 51 percent of Yahoo!’s stock. Speculations of a different kind have also been brewing around Microsoft and Yahoo! which are similar to those of Yahoo! and Google. The Wall Street Journal has noted that one of Microsoft’s thoughts was to have Yahoo! display ads sold by Microsoft in users’ search results.
While the Microsoft and Yahoo! endeavor is certainly not over, nothing is definite either. After all, both companies have different options to explore. Yahoo! still has options like Google, and even AOL. Microsoft is still unsure whether to try another full acquisition, a transaction or nothing at all.
