Facebook Embraces Different Web 2.0 Tools

The tools used in the world of web 2.0 vary from site to site. Facebook has prided itself in bringing people together through its social networking. However, compared to other social networking sites such as Myspace, Facebook was lacking in its blogging capabilities. Such is no longer the case, as Facebook implemented a new blogging application this week. Facebook is calling it a blogging network, which can bring together a community of writers. This is possible through the blog directory, which will organize bloggers through various demographics such as networks (school, city, etc.).

Facebook’s blogging network will incorporate another form of a widely used web 2.0 tool: RSS Feeds. Facebook is calling this feed the feed reader, which works based on the users’ blog networks. That is to say, once a user is part of at least five networks, the feed reader will automatically recommend similar networks to the user. As Facebook grows, it continues to take the initiative to incorporate multiple social media tools, ensuring their status as the biggest social network.
