New Facebook Design Has Mixed Reactions

In the past few months, Facebook users have had the option of choosing between the old and new layout. Today, however, all users were switched to the new layout. There have been mixed reactions towards the new Facebook. While some say it may be less user friendly, others have embraced its sleeker look. Facebook’s goal was to make organizing information and navigating around user profiles simpler and streamlined.
Facebook product manager Mark Slee wrote on Facebook’s blog addressing the new layout. Slee commented, “[Facebook] set out to make Facebook simpler, cleaner, more relevant, and easier to control”. Nevertheless, reports show that many users are not pleased with the new Facebook design. While many protesting Facebook groups formed against the layout, Slee promises that it simply takes some getting used to: “over time, we think people will appreciate the advantages of the new design and the new features it offers”. Will displeased users ever get the old Facebook back, or will the new layout win them over?
