Decision Engines on the Rise, Getting more Social

Bing was introduced a few weeks back as a decision engine, a tool used to help users make better decisions for their online activity. It seems that the decision engine is a new trend on the web. With the help of Flickr co-founder, Caterina Fake, Hunch.com is the newest addition to the decision engine game.
What does Hunch.com bring to the table? It seems that Bing is calling itself a decision engine to set itself apart from search engines like Google and Yahoo!, however, Hunch really is a decision engine, and more of a social network. TechCrunch states, “Hunch is a social network where the social object is sharing questions (and thus answers) which might be relevant to you. The more questions you answer the more your profile page become relevant to you. And you can of course share those questions around with a widget”. While Hunch is less of a helpful tool for search, it is helping users make decisions on what television shows to watch, what magazines to read, and what music to listen to.
