Facebook Ads to Target Lead Generation

September 1, 2009 by Marcel Media · Filed Under Advertising, facebook

Advertising on Facebook is becoming increasingly popular. Whether it’s brands advertising their fan pages or websites, more and more ads are finding their ways onto homepages and user profile pages. Facebook is now opening up testing on free sample ads to larger brands.

According to Inside Facebook, “[t]he new format, which is currently being tested with an ad for free chicken biscuit samples from Chick-fil-A, is the most integrated lead gen-style home page ad unit we’ve seen Facebook launch. .. the response form is presented in a popup over the News Feed, and users can easily propagate information they enter in the form to their profile and share their action with friends as well”. It will be interesting to see where Facebook goes with this type of advertising. While a free sample of a sandwich might be just one instance of using a lead generating coupon, it doesn’t have to be the only one. A sample of a product or even a service can also be in Facebook’s future. What other kinds of ads could Facebook display?

I run targeted facebook ads and I also think it works perfectly. I love that it really narrows down your search parameters.
