Buzz Beta
It’s impossible to use the Internet with out seeing the “Digg it” button. Digg has become incredibly popular, allowing users to submit and vote on their favorite news stories. There have been attempts to rival this site, but nothing has caught on.
This time it’s Yahoo!’s turn. Yahoo! has announced its plan for Buzz Beta, a site that will rival Digg. During the trial period a limited number of users will be able to submit stories, but the platform will soon open to all Yahoo! publishers.
Yahoo! has been trying to find ways, other than search, to strengthen their company. Flickr, for example is a Yahoo! favorite. Perhaps by continuing to push in the social media direction, Yahoo! will become a stronger Google rival.
