As Twitter continues its quest to take over the social media sphere, it is imperative that users take note and see the importance of the microblogging site. As Twitter continues to grow, so does the variety of the demographics of users who use the site. Many business owners have taken to Twitter to bridge the connection between them and their customers. This trend in having executives tweet has taken shape. So much so that this trend has launched ExecTweets.

According to Read Write Web, “ExecTweets is a new Twitter-powered site that provides an information-rich and curated view of just well-known executives grouped by fields of expertise. The site makes it easy to quickly vote up specific tweets as they appear as well as send a reply via Twitter if you want to engage in conversation”. Twitter is sponsoring ExecTweets. For consideration on being showcased on ExecTweets, executives have to follow the @exectweets and see if the executive would benefit from being on the site. There are also opportunities for executives to decline being on ExecTweets. ExecTweets has opened the door for many business executives as well as the social media sphere. Can other sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn provide a similar space for business executives to call their own?
