Postling Can Help Manage Social Media for Small Businesses
August 7, 2009 by admin · Filed Under Social Media
The founders of Etsy as well as a product manager from Amazon.com have launched Postling, a platform for small businesses that helps with publishing content onto social media sites. Postling differs from other social media publishing platforms in that it is geared towards small businesses, not the avid social media user. For instance, the site is not free, ranging from a monthly fee of $9 to a yearly fee of $90. It is not only for posting status updates, but users can post photos as well as blogs simultaneously, too.
ReadWriteWeb states, “Its value proposition is to save time for small businesses that want to test the social media waters. You publish to a variety of platforms and networks, and all your activity is also aggregated in a central Postling blog hosted on a subdomain”. How does it work? Once signed in, users are directed to the interface which gives options of what kind of content to update, and then where to update the content to. Users can update their statuses to Twitter and Facebook, can blog on WordPress, Blogger, Typepad and Squarespace. Images can get uploaded on Flickr.

Will Postling take off, or will users be turned off by using a paid service? While the site is young, it also has time to grow.
