State of the Blogosphere Brings Blogging to the Forefront

September 25, 2008 by admin · Filed Under Content Marketing, Social Media

Blogging has become one of the fastest growing outlets on the Internet.  Technorati’s State of the Blogosphere compiles data that shows blogging is becoming more and more prominent among users.  Since 2002, for example, Technorati has indexed 133 million blog records since 2002. Among other great insights, Technorati’s research shows that there are approximately 900,000 blog posts within 24 hours.

Furthermore, all blogs, whether personal or otherwise, are open to advertising and branding. The report states that blogs can incorporate search, display, and affiliate advertising, and are increasingly turning to ad and blog networks. Additionally, Technorati’s research finds that 90% of bloggers say they post about the brands, music, movies and books that they love (or hate). This can either boost or hinder reputation management.

As blogs continue to make their presence known in everyday life, more and more users turn to them for news, reviews, entertainment and overall, a creative outlet.
