ViralHeat Steps up for Social Media Analytics

Social media has been one of the hardest marketing platforms to track and analyze. Companies have been hard at work on creating tools which attempt to successfully track a social media marketing (SMM) campaign. A new startup, ViralHeat is taking a shot at SMM analytics. TechCrunch writes that ViralHeat is a “social media measurement product that scours social video sites including YouTube, Hulu and Vimeo, and Twitter to deliver real-time results of consumer generated content on these sites”.
ViralHeat is more of a trend tracker for a company, brand and/or organization across video sites like YouTube, Vimeo and Hulu, as well as Twitter. ViralHeat allows users to create about 30 different profiles (one per client) and track how many times they are mentioned. “The service also provides a graph of the number of Tweets over the past week and shows the most recent Tweets about the item updated in real-time, which you can Tweet out directly from Viralheat’s platform or email to others”. Users can also export this data to clients through PDFs or Excel documents. Nevertheless, ViralHeat would only be a component of SMM Analytics, as it does not provide insight into other platforms such as blogs, Facebook, LinkedIn or other SMM platforms.
