We’re writing to thank you for the many successes of our web site GuitarProfessionals.com. Guitar Professionals is the online outpost for our uncle’s music store, Snukst Music, which has been a staple for music aficionados in Chicago since 1969. We approached Marcel Media in early 2004, looking for a solution to our inventory outgrowing our physical location. You recognized our need to reduce inventory (Snukst Music has over 3,000 guitars) and to see immediate profitability. The idea was to use a 2-prong approach: build an online eBay store and an e-commerce enabled web site, marketed by top search engines, to expedite guitar sales.

In Spring 2004 Kelly and her team began building the Guitar Professionals web site. The site includes an e-commerce enabled interface, a partnership with PayPal, a leader in the online merchant arena, and an administration micro-site where inventory and photographs can easily be added, deleted, and edited in seconds. Within a month our web site was fully operational. At that time we began to market the web site with search engines and we also opened our eBay store, Guitar Professionals.

Marcel Media managed all the nuances of the new Internet strategy for Guitar Professionals, and there were many. We needed a system for inventory management, photography and description of items, physical storage of the merchandise, shipping and fulfillment solutions and ongoing customer service. Marcel Media took the ball and ran with it. We now have a strategic long-term plan for our web site and eBay store, which is very profitable. We have sold nearly 100 guitars in under 6 months and our Return on Investment is well over 200%. The Internet has proven to be a very successful channel for guitar sales for Snukst Music and we are thrilled with the outcome of GuitarProfessionals.com. We have also had several cases of repeat customers and the feedback from every one of them has been exceptional. One website customer later traveled to the store and bought 50 more guitars. We are delighted with the results provided by Kelly and her team.

Without Kelly Cutler and Marcel Media, none of these successes would have been possible. Kelly has a hands-on approach and an attention to detail which have been vital to this intricate project’s success. Kelly is a team player who we view as part of our company’s success. We plan to continue to work with Kelly, her partner Ben, and the Marcel Media team to utilize the Internet as a sustainable and profitable sales channel well into the future.
